Maintaining the Art of the Wooden Boat

The Silva Bay Shipyard School is excited to offer a third round of Introduction to woodworking for women taught by local woodworker Jan Sabine. This two-day course will teach participants shop safety, use of basic woodworking tools and an introduction to power tools while working on a small project that will be taken home at the end of the weekend.  Through our short courses we hope to foster involvement in the Silva Bay Shipyard School by encouraging members of our community to get involved in woodworking and the shipyard school.  Participants from Nanaimo and surrounding areas are encouraged to join us, please inquire about shuttle service to Silva Bay from the ferry terminal on Gabriola.
